Caring Hands Center

Caring Hands Outreach Center is a community-based nonprofit organization serving eastern Polk County from its location at 602 3rd Street SW in Altoona, Iowa. Founded in 2003 as a collaboration between local churches and community leaders, the organization operates a food pantry providing assistance to residents in need and manages a thrift store whose proceeds support the pantry’s mission. Caring Hands also hosts community programs including Monday Night Suppers and holiday family dinners while partnering with multiple denominational churches to deliver material and spiritual resources to neighbors in the Southeast Polk area.
