First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church is an American Baptist Churches USA congregation located at 540 First Avenue in Council Bluffs, Iowa, serving as an inner-city church near Bayliss Park. The church, built in 1924 with an education wing added in 1965, offers contemporary and traditional worship services along with children’s ministry and youth programs. With a rich history of community involvement, First Baptist Church has contributed to the establishment of significant local institutions, including Jennie Edmundson Hospital and Children’s Square USA (formerly The Christian Home), and currently operates a food pantry open to the public.
