Catholic Charities

Founded in 1924, Catholic Charities of Des Moines is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving people of all faiths in Central and Southwest Iowa. Located in Des Moines, the organization provides essential services including food pantry assistance, emergency family shelter, individual and family counseling, domestic violence and sexual assault services, and refugee resettlement programs. Each year, Catholic Charities serves more than 20,000 people through the support of staff, volunteers, and donors, guided by Catholic Social Teaching principles focused on dignity, respect, and social justice.
