Central Iowa Shelter & Services Community Kitchen – Food Distribution Center

Central Iowa Shelter & Services Community Kitchen is part of Central Iowa Shelter & Services, a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 in response to homelessness in Des Moines. The Community Kitchen, located at 1420 Mulberry Street in Des Moines, provides fresh and healthy meals to those in need throughout the Des Moines metro area, using ingredients and produce grown on-site, donated, or purchased. The program distributes over 100,000 meals annually through breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, with strong community support from volunteers and staff who work to serve individuals and families experiencing food insecurity and homelessness.
