Food Bank of Iowa

Food Bank of Iowa is a nonprofit organization located at 2220 E 17th Street in Des Moines, dedicated to alleviating hunger by distributing nutritious food to children, families, and seniors across Iowa. Founded in 1982, the organization has distributed over 163 million meals and now delivers more than 2.5 million pounds of food monthly through partnerships with 700 agencies in 55 counties. As a member of the Feeding America national network, Food Bank of Iowa operates direct service programs including mobile pantries, school pantry programs, and the BackPack Program, while maintaining a commitment to maximizing food distribution efficiency to meet the needs of diverse populations facing food insecurity.
