Hope Ministries Bethel Mission

Hope Ministries Bethel Mission, located at 1310 6th Avenue in Des Moines, serves as the largest privately funded emergency shelter for homeless men in Iowa with 108 beds. Founded in 1915 as Bethel Mission and merged with Door of Faith in 2000 to form Hope Ministries, the organization provides shelter, meals, Bible studies, individual case management, and Christian counseling, along with an 8 to 12-month program called Journey of Hope for long-term recovery. Hope Ministries is a nonprofit Christian ministry that serves thousands monthly through multiple locations across Des Moines, providing meals, clothing, shelter, and life recovery programs for homeless, hungry, and at-risk individuals and families in Central Iowa.
