Wellmark Urban Dreams Community Center

Urban Dreams is a nonprofit organization serving Des Moines since 1985, offering support services for substance abuse, chemical dependency, and mental health concerns, along with workforce development programming for underrepresented populations. The 11,000 square-foot Wellmark Urban Dreams Community Center, located at 1615 2nd Ave in Des Moines, houses expanded operations including a food pantry, esports lab, mental health and substance abuse treatment programs, and community event space. The center was made possible through the Wellmark Foundation’s $250,000 contribution to Urban Dreams’ capital campaign and continues the organization’s mission of creating equal opportunities and access for people to pursue their dreams and succeed.
