First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church in Dexter, Iowa is a Protestant congregation affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), located at 823 State Street. Organized in 1868 with six original members, the congregation built its first church building in 1870 and later constructed the present church building at a cost of $10,000. The church serves the Dexter community as part of the Des Moines Presbytery and has been involved in community outreach including Habitat for Humanity and refugee ministry initiatives.
