Zion Mennonite Church

Zion Mennonite Church is a Mennonite congregation located at 720 Park Street in Donnellson, Iowa, serving Lee County as a member of the Mennonite Church USA’s Central Plains Conference. Organized in autumn 1851, the church is historically significant as the site of a meeting in 1859 that led to the formation of the General Conference Mennonite Church, and it established the first Mennonite school west of the Mississippi River in 1853. The congregation emphasizes community service, youth programs, and shared worship, and from 1974-2010 held joint worship services with Donnellson Presbyterian Church while maintaining denominational identity.
