Immaculate Conception

Immaculate Conception is a Catholic church located at 311 15th Avenue in Gilbertville, Iowa. Founded with the town of Gilbertville (formerly known as Knox) in 1854, the parish began when Catholic settlers built a small church from sawmill scraps, and Bishop Mathias Loras purchased forty acres for the parish in 1855. The church is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dubuque and serves its community through regular masses on Saturdays and Sundays, while also supporting local Catholic education in the region.
