Pella Community Food Shelf

Pella Community Food Shelf is a Christian nonprofit ministry dedicated to addressing hunger in Pella and surrounding communities in Marion County, Iowa. Founded in 1981 at Peace Lutheran Church to serve just two families, it has grown into a community resource providing shelf-stable and fresh groceries, along with education and advocacy programs to help families move toward greater stability. The organization operates as a 100% volunteer-run, community-funded ministry that is part of the Central Iowa Food Bank Network and also operates a mobile food pantry and specialized programs including backpack food assistance for schoolchildren and holiday distributions.
