Amani Community Services

Amani Community Services is a nonprofit domestic violence and sexual assault agency that opened its doors in Waterloo, Iowa in July 2014 with a mission to serve African Americans through culturally specific support. The organization provides free and confidential services including individual and group counseling, prevention services, legal advocacy, youth programming, and information referrals, with a 24-hour crisis line available to all survivors regardless of background. Since its founding, Amani Community Services has expanded statewide with offices in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Des Moines, and Waterloo, serving over 1,000 clients across multiple Iowa counties.
