Americans For Independent Living

Americans for Independent Living (AFIL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Waterloo, Iowa that assists veterans experiencing homelessness, disabled veterans, and low-income veterans through transitional housing, home modifications, and comprehensive resource support. Since 2017, AFIL has assisted over 620 veterans and their families through its programs, including two transitional homes that provide housing, furniture, and essential necessities to help veterans regain independence and stability.
