West Des Moines Human Services

West Des Moines Human Services is a nonprofit department of the City of West Des Moines that has been serving low-income, elderly, and disabled residents since 1979. Located at 139 6th Street, the organization provides emergency assistance including food, clothing, rent and utility support, youth recreational programs, English language classes, school supplies, and operates the Valley Junction Free Medical Clinic. Currently assisting more than 2,000 households in West Des Moines and surrounding western suburbs, the department is dedicated to improving quality of life and community engagement.
