Giving the Basics

Giving the Basics is a Kansas-based nonprofit located at 927 S. 7th Street in Kansas City, KS that provides personal care and hygiene products to those in need. Founded in 2009 and formally launched in 2011, the organization aims to bring improved health, hope, and dignity to struggling children and adults by procuring and distributing hygiene items not covered by government assistance programs such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste. The organization distributes products through over 2,000 locations including schools, food pantries, police departments, and senior centers, reaching approximately 3 million people on a regular basis throughout the Kansas City metro area.
