Un. Trb. Ks. & Se Ne — Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)
About
The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes Food Distribution Program provides USDA Foods to income-eligible households in a grocery store setting through the federal Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), which was created in 1977 as an alternative to the Food Stamp Program for Native American communities with limited access to food markets and services. The program serves the Wichita Reserve Area in Northern Caddo County and includes a Community Garden established in 2015, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, offering participants fresh produce and herbs along with nutrition education focused on healthy eating habits.
