Soul Food Backpack Program – Prestonsburg

Soul Food is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in July 2015 dedicated to combating childhood food insecurity in Eastern Kentucky through its backpack program. The organization provides nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to children in Floyd and Johnson counties during weekends and school breaks when students would otherwise go hungry. Operating as a volunteer-led program with no administrative costs, Soul Food partners with family resource departments and community coordinators to ensure that every child has access to nourishing meals.
