Machias Food Pantry – Food Distribution Center

The Machias Food Pantry, located at 9 Center Street in Machias, Maine, provides free groceries to residents in need across eleven area towns including Machias, Machiasport, East Machias, and surrounding communities. Since its establishment over eight years ago, the pantry has grown from a small group of ten volunteers to a robust team of 37 volunteers serving approximately 375 families, with an average of ten new families joining monthly. The pantry operates on Mondays from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., accepting donations and welcoming individuals to shop once per week, while supporting local food sources through garden produce and farm share programs.
