MaineHealth Food Pantry at Maine Medical Center

The MaineHealth Food Pantry at Maine Medical Center opened in January 2023 and provides healthy food at no cost to community members experiencing food insecurity in Portland. Operating as a walk-in food pantry designed like a small grocery store, the pantry is part of MaineHealth's partnership with Good Shepherd Food Bank and has become the organization's 12th largest partner, serving thousands of individuals with fresh produce and nutritious food. The pantry is supported by volunteer care team members and community members who have contributed thousands of hours to its operation.
