Wayside Food Programs

Wayside Food Programs is a nonprofit organization in Portland, Maine that has been increasing access to nutritious food in Southern Maine since 1986. The organization fights hunger through multiple programs including food rescue operations that redirect surplus food to pantries and soup kitchens, mobile food pantries serving neighborhoods with transportation barriers, community meals, and a wholesale distribution system supporting over 51 partner agencies across Cumberland County. Wayside's work is powered by a network of community-based volunteers who collaborate with local agencies and housing authorities to address food insecurity while reducing food waste.
