South Michigan Food Bank

South Michigan Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1982 that collects and distributes food and grocery products to combat hunger across eight Michigan counties: Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Hillsdale, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lenawee, and St. Joseph. Operating from their distribution center in Battle Creek's Fort Custer Industrial Park, the organization distributed over 11 million pounds of food in 2023 through a network of 285 food distribution partners, while also providing advocacy for hunger-relief programs and offering volunteer opportunities for community members.
