Gleaners Community Food Bank

Founded in 1977, Gleaners Community Food Bank is one of the oldest food banks in the United States, headquartered in Detroit and serving five counties in Southeast Michigan. This nonprofit organization distributes millions of pounds of fresh and nonperishable food annually through a network of over 500 partner agencies including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and community organizations, while also providing nutrition education and direct-service mobile distributions to households facing food insecurity.
