First Lutheran Church of Aitkin

First Lutheran Church of Aitkin, located at 107 2nd Street SE in Aitkin, Minnesota, is an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregation with roots dating to 1888, when Swedish descendants established Maria Lutheran Church. The church merged two congregations in 1930 and dedicated its current building in 1957, with a major expansion in 2002 adding a new sanctuary and fellowship spaces. First Lutheran serves the community through weekly worship services, Christian education, a food pantry serving low-income residents, community meals, and various outreach ministries as a nonprofit religious organization.
