Lakes Area Food Shelf (Baxter)

Lakes Area Food Shelf is a nonprofit organization providing food and hygiene products to households experiencing food insecurity in the Baxter area and surrounding Crow Wing County communities. The organization opened its second location in Baxter on April 21, 2026, at 7837 Excelsior Road, expanding beyond its original Pequot Lakes base to serve an estimated 1,100 households monthly by June 2026. As a University of Minnesota-designated “Super Shelf,” Lakes Area Food Shelf operates in a respectful, nonjudgmental manner, offering nutrient-dense food options and personal items like soap and hygiene products to ensure dignity for those accessing services.
