Chum – Churches United In Ministry – Food Distribution Center

Churches United in Ministry (CHUM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1973 when 10 churches in Duluth’s Central Hillside neighborhood pooled their resources to serve low-income residents. Operating one of Duluth’s largest food shelves with locations at 120 N. First Avenue West and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in West Duluth, CHUM distributes over 500,000 pounds of food annually and provides mobile pantries and at-home food delivery throughout the community. Beyond food assistance, CHUM is Duluth’s largest service safety net for those experiencing homelessness, operating an emergency shelter, drop-in center, street outreach programs, and supportive housing for families and seniors, serving more than 8,000 low-income, homeless, and marginalized community members each year.
