Emergency Food Shelf West

CHUM Emergency Food Shelf West is a nonprofit organization dedicated to distributing food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in Duluth, MN. Located at 4831 Grand Avenue in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, the food shelf originated from the organization’s emergency response to the economic recession of the late 1970s and became a CHUM responsibility in 1981, expanding to the West Duluth location in 1982. The organization provides five-day food orders and advocacy services connecting people to essential community resources, with staff and approximately 100 volunteers distributing 260,000 pounds of food annually to an average of 570 households monthly.
