First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church, known locally as the “Coppertop,” has served the Duluth, Minnesota community for over 150 years since its organization in 1869. Located at 230 E Skyline Parkway, the church is a striking mid-century modern structure completed in 1966 and designed by renowned architect Pietro Belluschi, sitting prominently 600 feet above Lake Superior. As a nonprofit United Methodist congregation, the church provides worship services, faith education, and community service programs, welcoming members and visitors to participate in its mission of sharing Christ’s love and supporting one another in faith and service.
