Union Gospel Mission

Union Gospel Mission is a nonprofit organization located at 219 East First Street in downtown Duluth, dedicated to serving Northland neighbors in need. Founded on November 1, 1922, by twenty-two churches coming together during the Great Depression, the Mission provides essential food, shelter, and supportive services including meals, housing through its Mission Heights program, seasonal clothing, hygiene items, and access to community resources. The organization serves over 99,000 hot meals annually and operates a Summer Food Bag Program addressing childhood hunger, while actively partnering with the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and local government on expanding services, including the upcoming Mission Engagement Center scheduled to open in 2028.
