Echo Food Shelf

The Emergency Community Help Organization (ECHO) Food Shelf has provided emergency food assistance to residents of Blue Earth County and North Mankato since its founding in 1981 as a grassroots effort in a church basement. Located at 1014 South Front Street in Mankato, ECHO distributes approximately 160,000 pounds of food monthly to roughly 1,700 households, operating as a client-choice food shelf that allows recipients to select their own groceries. The organization is currently undergoing a significant expansion to increase storage capacity and improve its ability to accept donations and serve the growing number of families in need within the community.
