Appetite For Change, Inc.

Founded in 2011, Appetite For Change is a nonprofit organization in North Minneapolis that uses food as a tool to build health, wealth, and social change in the African American community. The organization operates multiple programs including urban agriculture across three farm sites, community cooking workshops, workforce development training for youth ages 14-18, and the Breaking Bread Café & Catering social enterprise on West Broadway. AFC addresses systemic food inequity in North Minneapolis—recognized as one of the nation’s largest food deserts—through its comprehensive approach to food justice, which includes meal box distribution, business incubation, and community organizing efforts.
