Center for Asians and Pacific Islanders CAPI Food Shelf
About
Center for Asians and Pacific Islanders (CAPI) Food Shelf is a nonprofit food pantry founded in 1982 by church groups to serve Southeast Asian refugees in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. The food shelf offers culturally-specific food to better serve immigrant and refugee communities, and today CAPI USA serves over 10,000 immigrants and refugees annually across the Twin Cities metro area with locations in Minneapolis, including the East Lake Street location. CAPI has expanded its mission beyond its Pan-Asian origins to serve diverse immigrant populations from across the world, supporting people toward greater economic stability and health.
