Foundation for Essential Needs (FFEN)

Founded in 2011, the Foundation for Essential Needs (FFEN) is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit dedicated to reshaping Minnesota’s hunger relief system through capacity building, strategic guidance, and professional development for food shelves. FFEN engages skilled pro-bono volunteers to provide no-cost consultation and technical support to food shelves across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, helping them strengthen operations, improve sourcing decisions, and better serve their communities. Located at 701 N. 3rd Street, Suite 203, FFEN works to ensure dignified access to food by supporting food shelf leaders with best practices training, data-driven insights, and innovative solutions.
