Friendly Manor – High Rise Mobile Food Shelf

The High Rise Mobile Food Shelf, operated by East Side Neighborhood Services, brings fresh food directly to 52 low-income apartment buildings across Hennepin County, including Friendly Manor, ensuring residents without reliable transportation have access to nutritional support. Serving over 3,800 participants who are primarily older adults and people with disabilities, the program uses a client-choice shopping model and delivers fresh produce, meats, dairy, bread, and non-perishable items, with over 40% of the food being fresh fruits and vegetables. Community volunteers within each building help set up and distribute the food to their neighbors, fostering connection and support among residents.
