Gift of Life Transplant House is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1984 in Rochester, Minnesota, providing affordable accommodations and supportive services for solid organ, bone marrow, and stem cell transplant patients undergoing treatment at Mayo Clinic. Operating two facilities with 84 guest rooms located on 2nd Street SW in Rochester, the organization offers high-quality lodging at just $30 per night to over 4,000 patients and caregivers annually, with transportation assistance and other essential support services. The house has grown from its humble beginnings as an eight-bedroom home inspired by founder Ed Pompeian’s own transplant experience to become the largest transplant hospitality house in the nation.
