The Center Project

The Center Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community center serving LGBTQIA+ people in Columbia and mid-Missouri since its founding over 20 years ago. Located at 805 Fairview Avenue in Columbia’s First Ward, the organization provides youth programs, support groups, emergency financial assistance, education, advocacy, and community resources, including a free clothing closet and gender-affirming healthcare provider lists. Operating primarily through dedicated volunteers and community support, The Center Project works in collaboration with local organizations to create an affirming, equitable space where LGBTQIA+ people can learn, grow, and thrive.
