VAC – Voluntary Action Center

Voluntary Action Center (VAC) is a local nonprofit organization that has served Columbia and Boone County, Missouri for over 50 years, responding to the immediate basic needs of individuals and families in the community. Located at 403A Vandiver Drive, VAC provides assistance with food insecurity, housing support, utilities, employment resources, healthcare needs, and other essential services while also promoting community volunteerism. The organization works to help low-income individuals and families bridge the gaps between crisis and stability, with recent initiatives including the VAC Opportunity Campus—a community-centered expansion designed to broaden access to shelter and long-term stability resources across Boone County.
