About
The Stone Church Community of Christ, located at 1012 West Lexington Avenue in Independence, Missouri, is a historic limestone sanctuary completed and dedicated on April 6, 1888. Affiliated with the Community of Christ (formerly the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), the church serves as a place of worship and community outreach, hosting regular congregational meetings and Sunday services. The building is known as the “pulpit of the Presidents” due to its historical significance as the administrative headquarters of the denomination until 1958, and it continues to be an active beacon of hope and community engagement in Independence.
