Independent Living Center – Food Distribution Center

The Independent Living Center (TILC) is a nonprofit organization located at 2639 East 34th Street in Joplin, Missouri, dedicated to increasing the independence of people with disabilities and chronic health problems. Founded in 1994 as a satellite office and becoming a fully independent center in 1995, TILC provides comprehensive services including advocacy, peer support, independent living skills training, attendant care, home modifications, and an on-site food pantry. The organization played a vital role in the Joplin community after the 2011 tornado, coordinating services for individuals with disabilities and ensuring the community was rebuilt with accessibility in mind.
