The Help Center Inc., originally established in 1965 as the Audrain County Human Development Corporation, operates as a nonprofit food pantry and thrift store located at 409 Fairground in Mexico, MO. The organization was renamed The Help Center, Inc. in 2009 and relocated to its current 22,000 square-foot facility (named The Laura Miller George Help Center) in 2015, following significant community support and expansion efforts. The Help Center serves as Audrain County’s only food pantry, offering weekly food distributions to county residents, while its thrift store provides affordable clothing and household goods to the public, with all proceeds supporting the pantry’s operations and emergency assistance programs.
