The Kitchen, Inc.

The Kitchen, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Springfield, Missouri, dedicated to ending homelessness in the Ozarks region. Founded by Sister Lorraine Biebel, the organization provides emergency shelter, affordable housing, case management, and specialized youth services through its five integrated programs serving families, individuals, seniors, veterans, and at-risk youth ages 13-24. With a portfolio of 222 affordable housing units across properties including Beacon Village, Franciscan Villa, McClernon Villas, and Spero Place, The Kitchen, Inc. houses more than 700 people annually while operating on a Housing First philosophy that prioritizes stable housing as the foundation for addressing homelessness in Greene, Christian, and Webster counties.
