A Red Circle

A Red Circle is a nonprofit organization founded in 2017 and located in North St. Louis County that promotes community betterment through a racial equity lens by building sustainable food systems, advancing education access, and fostering Black-centered art and creativity. The organization operates the North County Agricultural Education Center, which transforms abandoned urban lots into productive gardens while training new farmers, and runs community food programs including the Healthy Community Market and free weekly food distribution events. A Red Circle is also developing the North County Nexus, an ambitious project converting an abandoned shopping center into a community hub featuring a grocery store, commercial kitchen, and health resources to address food insecurity and systemic inequities in the region.
