New Roots Urban Farm – Food Distribution Center
About
New Roots Urban Farm is a BIPOC-led nonprofit collective located at 1832 Hogan Street in North St. Louis that was founded in 2004 to combat food inequity in underserved communities. The organization grows and distributes fresh organic produce on a pay-as-you-can model, provides sustainable farming education, and runs community programs including weekly gardening sessions at a nearby juvenile detention center. Through its work transforming vacant lots into productive farm sites, New Roots aims to build a localized food system that addresses food apartheid while promoting environmental sustainability and community resilience.
