Known as “The Picnic Capital of Nebraska,” Pawnee Park first opened in 1925 and encompasses almost 153 acres adjoining the Loup River in Columbus, Nebraska. The park features recreational facilities including playgrounds, sports fields, walking trails, picnic areas, and is home to American Legion and Columbus High School baseball, along with the Pawnee Plunge Water Park and Andrew Jackson Higgins National Memorial.
