American Lutheran Church

American Lutheran Church is an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregation located at 1512 Avenue G in Gothenburg, Nebraska, serving Dawson County. The church was formed in 1952 through the merger of Christ Lutheran Church (founded in 1881) and St. John’s Lutheran Church (founded in 1904), with its current facility dedicated in 1954. As a nonprofit religious organization registered since 1959, American Lutheran Church offers traditional hymns and contemporary worship, maintains community outreach programs including a food pantry, and features a remodeled facility with music ministries, educational spaces, and handicapped accessibility.
