The Gathering Place – Food Distribution Center

The Gathering Place is a nonprofit program of Community Action that has served Lincoln residents facing hunger since opening in 1982 at 1448 E Street. The organization provides free evening meals seven days a week from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., along with bread and fresh produce distributions, serving over 55,000 meals annually. The Gathering Place’s mission is rooted in creating a welcoming community space for the poor, elderly, homeless, hungry, and disenfranchised, supported by more than 500 volunteers annually and contributions from churches and individual donors.
