Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Food Pantry

The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Food Pantry in Cedar Grove is a volunteer-based humanitarian organization that provides free groceries to families in need throughout Essex County, including fresh produce and vegetarian food items. Founded in 1992 as one of the first Tzu Chi chapters in the United States, the pantry now serves hundreds of families weekly and operates via a drive-thru system. Beyond food distribution, the foundation engages in community relief efforts, education, and cultural initiatives while fostering volunteerism among both recipients and community members.
