The Food Brigade Inc.

The Food Brigade Inc. is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization headquartered in Dumont, NJ that combats hunger and food insecurity across New Jersey. Founded by Karen and Carmine DeMarco in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization operates community food markets and distributes meals and fresh produce to families and individuals in need throughout Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, and Union counties. Working with volunteers and supply partners, The Food Brigade serves thousands of residents weekly, prioritizing those who fall through the cracks of existing services, and operates a food rescue program to reduce both hunger and food waste.
