The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit coalition comprising more than 60 food pantries serving Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties. Founded in 1979 and headquartered at 32 Essex Street in Albany, NY, the organization annually funds, collects, and distributes over 1,380 tons of food that provides approximately 2.7 million meals to community members in need. Beyond food distribution, the organization supports member pantries through service coordination, education, training, networking opportunities, and specialized programs including infant needs assistance and holiday meal initiatives.
