Union Pool Community Pantry

Union Pool hosts a volunteer-run community food-assistance program in its backyard for local North Brooklyn neighbors. The pantry was launched in 2020 in partnership with St. John's Bread & Life and Rethink Food, and has grown from serving seven bags to providing groceries and hot meals to approximately 150 and 250 people respectively each week. Located in Williamsburg, Union Pool combines its role as a longstanding bar and cultural venue with community support, having served as a neighborhood hub during crises including 9/11, the 2003 blackout, and Hurricane Sandy.
