Anchor Fridge – City Island

Anchor Fridge is a community refrigerator established in December 2020 on City Island in the Bronx to address food insecurity resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The fridge is maintained by a network of local volunteers who stock it with donated food from farmers markets, neighbors, and community supporters, operating on a grassroots mutual aid model with no formal budget.
